The Bobby Pin started as a love of collecting all things beautiful and grew into a passion for creating perfect adornments for the perfect person. I was born and bred in Yorkshire and grew up in a creative bubble, always surrounded by Grandmothers that could sew practically anything out of nothing, and a mother that could knit an entire wardrobe within minutes.
Where I am now started at Derby University in 2002 where I completed a BA (Hons) in Business Administration. Following that I worked for a range of multinational companies here in the UK, and also in Canada where I took a role in buying fashion. On my return to the UK I moved into designing children’s apparel and toys. In 2012 I decided to find a new vocation and went to Leeds College of Art to learn millinery. I live with my very supportive husband Jordan and we have a very beautiful boy called Jude & two very naughty ginger cats called Rusty and Dusty.
When I’m not creating beautiful things I love nothing more than a gin and tonic in the sunshine (whenever that is) and a wander in the Yorkshire Dales with my beautiful boys. This includes a good Sunday lunch (with Yorkshire Pudding of course), and it must finish with a cheese board! Yorkshire for me is all about personality; whether it’s the landscape, the great tea and ale, or the people. I feel very lucky to be surrounded by this great County. The Bobby Pin is in very good company and I hope you will find this when you come to me. The kettle is always on.
